The problem

What it solves.

Four everyday MIDI editing headaches — each reduced to one focused keyboard command.

01

Manual note selection is tedious

Clicking notes one by one across 32 bars is hundreds of clicks for a simple edit.

02

No native beat-position select

Studio One has no native command that selects MIDI notes by matching beat position across every bar in the part.

03

Humanized MIDI breaks selection

Notes shifted by humanize don't sit on the exact grid, so regular select misses them.

04

Repeated chord hits are easy to miss

Finding every matching chord that recurs at the same beat position isn't editing — it's hunting.

Features

Key features.

Built for real MIDI — humanized notes, common time signatures, and practical Studio One display modes.

Humanize-aware

Matches humanized notes within ±50 ticks of the target position.

Auto time signature

Detects 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4, 8/4 automatically from the DAW transport.

Display modes

Works in common transport display modes. For unusual signatures, use Bars display mode for best accuracy.

Safe & reliable

If no match is found, your original note selection is restored.

Multi-note selection

Select multiple notes on different beats — it finds all matching positions independently.

One package

A single .package file installs all three modes. Assign separate shortcuts to each.

Select Equal Subpositions

  • 01Select one note and trigger the matching mode.
  • 02Finds matching beat positions across every bar.
  • 03Handles pitch-specific and exact chord matches.
  • 04Edit velocity, pitch, mute state, or timing in one move.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does it work with humanized MIDI?

Yes. Smart tolerance catches humanized notes up to ±50 ticks — Studio One's default humanize range.

What about time signature changes?

The script detects time signature at the selected note's position. Bars display mode gives best accuracy for non-standard signatures.

Can I use it on multiple machines?

Yes. One purchase is for one user. You may install it on a reasonable number of computers you own or control, as long as only you use it.

Which editions are supported?

Studio One editions with scripting support are supported, including Studio One 6, Studio One Pro 7, and Fender Studio Pro with scripting support.

Will I get updates?

Yes, v1.x updates are included at no extra cost. Future major versions may be separate products if the scope changes.

Can I get a refund?

If it does not work as described on a supported setup, email support@shmlv.com and I will troubleshoot, replace or update the file where appropriate, or provide the remedy required by applicable law. Because this is an immediately delivered digital download, change-of-mind refunds after delivery are generally limited; the full policy is on the refund page.
